Tennis & Pickleball
Whether you are a master, new to the game or would love to start, Catawba Island Club offers three outdoor tennis and three outdoor pickleball courts for enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. As a member, you and your family can play singles or doubles, receive professional instruction, compete in leagues and tournament play or take part in special events. The Har-Tru courts are open from May through early October.

Youth Tennis Clinics

We make learning how to play tennis fun! Boys and girls of all abilities will learn the fundamentals of the game in a fun and engaging environment. Best suited for kids 6-17 years old.

Timothy Richardson Jr., also known as TJ, is a proactive tennis coach dedicated to training athletes from beginner to advanced levels.
TJ comes to CIC with over eight years of experience, and he is excited to continue to develop CIC's racquet sports program. The Louisville, Kentucky, native has previous stints as a tennis coach at Camp Winadu in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, last summer, as well as at the Louisville Tennis Club in Louisville, Kentucky, from 2019-2022.
TJ is a hardworking instructor known for developing creative game strategies and employing a flexible and dedicated approach to athletic guidance. Recognized for boosting morale and self-confidence, TJ fosters a spirit of teamwork among athletes and others.
TJ earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Tiffin University in May 2024.
