About CIC

Welcome to Catawba Island Club, located on Lake Erie’s Ohio Shore. CIC is known for its beautiful, natural location and is nestled on the Northwestern end of the Catawba Peninsula within the Catawba Island Township. The township is in the Northeastern part of the county on the Northern point of the Marblehead Peninsula, forming its own peninsula - not an island - into Lake Erie.

CIC’s variety of amenities allow members and their guests to enjoy the Club year-round. Our Championship 18-Hole Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest Golf Course, beautiful lakefront pool development, tennis and pickleball courts offer plenty of outdoor amenities. While our dining room and fitness center provide entertainment during the colder seasons.

Members and their families gather at CIC to renew friendships, make new friends and pass the time with loved ones. CIC has always been a family-friendly club, with many multi-generational families making CIC their “home away from home.” Club activities and events are created to provide a wide range of choices for all age groups across third and fourth generation family members. These families have enjoyed some of their fondest times at CIC, whether it was at one of our pools, on the golf course, at the tennis courts or just watching our unparalleled sunsets while sipping on their favorite beverage.

Club History

Club History

It was originally established in 1928 as The Catawba Cliffs Beach Club, Inc., a private, family-oriented resort for the Catawba Cliffs community. The facility was purchased in the fall of 1967 by James Stouffer Sr., son of Stouffer Foods founder Vernon Stouffer, and was given its new life as a premier yachting and country club in the spring of 1968 as Catawba Island Club. The Club has been owned and operated by the Stouffer family since its inception and continues proudly with the later generations of the Stouffer family.
