Yachtsmen Association Events
Heather Stouffer

Heather Stouffer built the events department at Catawba Island Club from the ground up in 2017, where she is now scaling back and is responsible for planning and executing Yachtsmen Association events.
Heather has been a part of CIC’s staff since her early college years, starting at the front desk and transitioning into several different roles throughout her time. As the special events coordinator, she loves to welcome guests to CIC and observe their awe, as they experience the magnificent facility located along the shores of Lake Erie.
Outside of CIC, you’ll find Heather walking her dog Franklin around Catawba, playing tennis or boating with family and friends. In the winter months, she is proud to say that she’s a puzzle geek and loves challenging her brain.
Heather is married to Jim Stouffer Jr., and together, they have raised two children, Nic and Lily, along with their dog Franklin. They reside year-round on Catawba Island. She also is a stepmom to James, David and Matthew Stouffer.

Joa Bernard

Joa Bernard joined the events department at Catawba Island Club in May of 2021, where she specializes in wedding, pavilion and member events.
Joa arrived at CIC with more than 12 years of customer service experience. A native of the Dominican Republic, she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from UCSD in 2009 and an associate’s degree in hospitality and tourism from PUCMM in 2005. Joa’s keen eye for detail, coupled with her unique combination of education and experience, makes her an expert at bringing a wedding vision to life.
Joa is passionate about event planning and loves turning her client’s dreams into reality. Outside of CIC, she enjoys traveling the world and planning every detail of her trip. She also likes spending time with family and friends, eating sushi, drinking martinis and listening to music. Joa and her husband, Joe, currently reside in Sandusky with their son Javier.
Golf, Recreation and Youth Events; Entertainment
Brittney Searles

Brittney Searles joined the events department at Catawba Island Club in August of 2022, where she specializes in golf, recreation and youth events. She also schedules the Club's entertainment.
Brittney comes to CIC with a wealth of experience in planning and executing events, and she is excited to continue to develop CIC’s recreational and youth programs. Brittney looks forward to ensuring that every member and their family has an enjoyable and memorable experience. Her greatest joy is watching members and their children flourish through these experiences.
Brittney most recently moved to Port Clinton after living in the Tiffin area for the last 15 years. Outside of CIC, you’ll find her hanging out with family and friends, going out for drinks and listening to music, all while loving the lake life. Her favorite part of the day is to FaceTime with her daughter and son-in-law, Baleigh and Cyle, as well as her precious granddaughters, Haidynn Mae and Kyleigh Jo, and youngest daughter, Morgan.
Corporate and Destination Events
Lexi Rogers

Lexi Rogers joined the events department at Catawba Island Club in September of 2022, where she specializes in corporate and destination events.
Lexi came to CIC after most recently earning a bachelor’s degree in communications at Toledo, where she was a part of the Chi Omega sorority, and she is excited to excel in her first full-time role after graduation. Her favorite part about event planning is seeing the spark in someone’s eyes when their vision comes to life.
Outside of CIC, the Sharon, Pennsylvania, native is an avid concert goer and traveler.
GEMINI and Social Events; Donations
Ellie Ostermyer

Following a five-month stint as the events intern at Catawba Island Club, Ellie Ostermyer was promoted to a full-time events coordinator in October 2023 and currently specializes in GEMINI and social events, as well as donations.
Ellie arrived at CIC with seven years of experience in customer service, earning her associate degree in hospitality management from Owens Community College in May 2023, as well as a certificate in event planning.
Outside of CIC, the Temperance, Michigan, native is a loving cat mom and looks forward to going home to her two cats, Tito and Blue, after a long day. Ellie loves to travel and enjoys food and drinks with her family and friends. You can also find her playing cards, especially euchre, in her spare time.
