Patrick Griffin, PGA Head Golf Professional

Patrick Griffin is in his 15th year with Catawba Island Club and is in his fifth year serving as the Head Golf Professional. Patrick started working at CIC as an intern in 2008 and has quickly worked his way through the ranks in the golf department, earning his promotion to Head Golf Professional in 2017.

During that time, he fulfilled his life-long dream of becoming a member of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America and has been a member since 2016.

Patrick, a native of Indiana, Pennsylvania, earned his bachelor’s degree in sport administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2011. He also lettered in golf for four consecutive years at Indiana Area High.

Patrick always had a passion for golf, and he looks forward to providing great service for the membership and building strong relationships with all members and their guests daily.

He and his wife, Brittany, have two daughters, Emma and Peyton. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, doing yard work and spending time with his family.

Rob Rogers, Assistant Golf Professional

Rob Rogers, a 2017 Catawba Island Club intern, returned to CIC as an assistant golf professional in the fall of 2021 following stints at Indian Wells Country Club in Indian Wells, California, and Bearpath Golf and Country Club in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

The Lapeer, Michigan, native assists head golf professional Patrick Griffin in all aspects of the day-to-day golf operations, including tee times, course play, merchandising, etc. He also helps manage numerous tournaments and leagues, as well as member events, from start to finish, develop and implement camps and clinics and coordinate junior golf activities.

Rob graduated from Ferris State with a bachelor’s degree in Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) golf management in December 2020. He is currently pursuing the Playing Ability Test (PAT), which is the PGA of America’s measure of golfing ability for aspiring PGA Professionals.

Dax Stendebach, Golf Instructor

Dax Stendebach is in his second consecutive season as a PGA intern at Catawba Island Club. Dax assists head golf professional, Patrick Griffin, and assistant golf professional, Rob Rogers, in the daily operations of the golf shop, including tee times, tournament operations, member events and instructional clinics.

Dax, a native of Verdigris, Oklahoma, discovered his passion for golf when he started playing at the age of 15. Shortly after, he earned his first job in golf, where his love for the game quickly grew into a future career path.

Dax is entering his senior year at the University of Central Oklahoma, a PGA accredited university, studying PGA Professional Golf Management and is expected to graduate in May of 2024. Following graduation, Dax will pursue a final seven-month internship and fulfill the required work experience to complete his degree and the PGA student program.
